LIXshooter Bottom-Injection System for Liquid Nitrogen/CO2
The LIXshooter® from Linde is a cryogenic bottom-injection system suitable for use with either liquid nitrogen or liquid carbon dioxide.
Wherever there is a need for fast and efficient cooling without additional process equipment then the LIXshooter® could be the answer.
It can be installed in new or existing process machines in a minimum of space and cools directly into the product. The rapid cooling leads to a high product quality due to low phase separation, low product stress and reduced aroma loss.
The LIXshooter® works by injecting a discreet amount of coolant directly into the product mass. The coolant then evaporates in contact with the product absorbing heat from it. The cold gas then continues to cool as it passes to the top of the process container.
Benefits
Bottom injection was traditionally only suitable for liquid CO2 systems but the LIXshooter® allows the efficient use of liquid nitrogen and prevents the localised freezing associated with liquid nitrogen systems in the past.

- all surfaces in contact with the product are self-emptying or self-draining
