Vitox and Solvox - Oxygenation in Wastewater Treatment
Efficient oxygen transfer is an essential component of all aerobic wastewater treatment processes. This can be achieved using air or pure oxygen.
Aeration systems often cannot match the variable or increased oxygen transfer required to meet ever-tightening standards of performance.
Pure oxygen-based delivery systems can significantly enhance the aeration process by adding to, or completely replacing, existing systems.
Air only contains one-fifth oxygen by volume. So pure oxygen proportionately increases the rate of oxygen transfer into water treatment systems. This ensures the microorganisms providing the biological process for wastewater treatment perform to their maximum potential - they are in an environment where oxygen transfer matches their demand.
Vitox venturi dissolvers
Vitox venturi dissolvers have been developed over 30 years. They provide extremely efficient and powerful dissolution systems for upgrading existing plants and for purpose-built systems.
Solvox-B
Solvox-B systems provide alternative fine bubble diffuser systems which do not require any external power source.
Application and use
Upgrading existing plants with pure oxygen systems enables an immediate increase in treatment performance, ideal for overloaded plants or those where more treatment performance is required.
Superior dissolved oxygen control ensures that biomass is able to perform un-hindered by limited oxygen transfer, as from aeration systems.
Efficient dissolution ensures minimal additional power requirement, minimal foaming or aerosol generation and will improve important operational parameters such as settlement performance and overall COD removal. This enables improved performance to be obtained from an existing asset or a given volume of plant.
The systems can also be used to provide the additional oxygen transfer required to operate at higher dissolved oxygen concentrations for successful and reliable nitrification.
Installation
Retrofitting these systems can be completed quickly, usually without interruption to existing operation.

Systems can be bought outright or hired for temporary use.
