Additive manufacturing, often referred to as the 3rd Industrial Revolution, is becoming a widespread phenomenon due to the manufacturing flexibility, cost and material savings it offers.
BOC is at the forefront of research, development and commissioning of additive manufacturing technologies, supporting universities and researchers, prototyping contractors, additive manufacturing centres and Aerospace, Automotive and Medical Device Manufacturing companies with our industry-leading gases and technologies.
As the demand for additive-manufactured products has been steadily increasing, so have the many technologies which support the industry, including:
Whether for research and development or for manufacturing, BOC provides world-class gases and technical expertise for additive manufacturing / 3D metal printing processes:

Leading in Additive Manufacturing innovation
BOC UK Ltd are proud to be an active member of the ACCLAIM project consortium. The ACCLAIM (ACcelerated CLadding And Integrated Machining) project received approximately £694,000 of support from the UK’s innovation agency, the Technology Strategy Board. With this support, ACCLAIM aims to address some major and growing problems within the additive manufacturing (AM) sector; limiting factors such as cost, time and resource needed to finish parts after an AM build as well as improving the mechanical performance of AM built parts are all being addressed within the project.

GENIE® Gas Cylinders
GENIE® is the ideal gas cylinder for additive manufacturing processes used in prototyping, tooling and casting.
GENIE®, available in 10L or 20L Argon or Helium, contains 30% more gas than standard cylinders, has attachable wheels and a handle for portability, is significantly lighter than standard cylinders and includes a digital display which indicates flow rates and remaining gas.
The GENIE® is designed to stack two cylinders; ideal for additive manufacturing processes requiring small footprints.
CRYOSPEED® - Cryogenic delivery solutions for research, rapid prototyping and 3D printing processes
Whether you require gas in large or small volumes, CRYOSPEED® will meet your needs by providing a hands free delivery of Liquid Argon for additive manufacturing processes.
When you turn to CRYOSPEED® for your cryogenic additive manufacturing Argon needs, you choose a partner known for reliability, flexibility and expert customer service with over forty years’ experience.
Cleaning Process & Surface Finishing
CRYOCLEAN Snow & Snow+ processes shoot solid dry ice particles onto surfaces using compressed air; Snow+ combines sand blasting. The cleaning processes are suitable for additive manufacturing in assisting the removal of un-fused metal powders, removal of surface oxides and for cleaning during machining processes. CRYOCLEAN is faster, more cost effective and more environmentally-friendly than traditional cleaning methods.
